Grappling, in all its forms, is more than a physical artform. It is a dynamic dialogue between two minds and bodies.
Every subtle shift in position tells a story of intent, instinct, or adaptation. Calculated movements can overcome brute force. But the complexity and nuance of well laid plans can be unraveled with unexpected simplicity.
Grappling 4 Grappling, offers the opportunity to compete in unique and creative ways.
Test your techniques and elevate your skills. This is a space where wrestling, judo, sambo, BJJ, and other disciplines collide.
Compete in any of these unique formats.
SOGO—Submit Or Grapple Out.
Rooted in the principles of sumo, there are 2 methods of victory. You can either grapple your opponent out of the competition area or force them to submit. In the latter case any submission must begin while your opponent is still standing.
Takedown Challenge.
This is an open-format showcase where athletes can use any disciplined method to bring their opponent to the ground. Whether it's a classic wrestling double leg, a judo hip toss, or a Greco lift, the goal is clear: controlled and clean execution.
Dynamic Grappling.
Within this format, there are several methods to secure the win. You can win on points, which are earned through takedowns, throws, grappling your opponent out of the competition area, or securing one of four dominant control positions for 4 seconds.
Those four positions-mount, side control, knee on belly, and back control-can also be the decided upon win condition.
In a submission exhibition, opponents are tasked with being the first to lock their opponent in pre-match stipulated submission holds for 5 seconds.
There's the standard submissions stipulation where you force an opponent to tap, snap or referee calls it.
Finally you can trap two of your opponents appendages while they are on their back and they have 3 seconds to break that control.
Team Assisted Grappling
For the ladies, it's 3 on 3. Coin toss determines who gets to choose the stipulation in each one on one encounter. The first team to win 5 encounters is the victor.
The men compete 5 against 5. 24 minute time limit divided into 4 6 minute period. Coin toss determines which weight class closes the period. During the first phase of the period, your team has to grapple three of your opponents out of the competition area. 2nd phase is to score 3 takedowns. With the time left over, the closer tries to finish their opponent or score as many points.
Whichever format suits you best, showcase your style. Few things are as rewarding as competing in front of a community that truly understands the grind. When you battle in front of fellow grapplers, your craft is respected regardless of your win-loss record.
However, a greater reward is the opportunity to compete in front of a paying crowd after proving yourself to your peers.
